Drawing Final Exam
Question 2
At first, my art was only made in graphite pencil because that was what I good with, so it stuck. I was not very good with making consistant and strait lines due to my sketchy art style. I had some difficulty with shading realistically and making things have texture. A good example of this would be the still art piece near the start of the semester. I was just learning how to apply texture and shading to real life objects. Near the end of the semester, I still favored pencil but I was able to use charcoal even better than before. I was able to draw with realistic proportion and shading. I was able to make my lines more consistant with the subject matter. My shading got more fluent and I was able to make a hair- like texture. I also overall improved in my pacing.

Question 4
The two practice assignments ive chosen where the spherical shading (from the fruit mini project) and the candy drawings (opacity project). These two in particular helped me with the opacity project. Even though the shading practice was not for that project, it helped me know how to shade specific areas of my drawing. I feel like more instruction could be done with how to properly draw an opaque surface. I could be given in easier steps to understand how to draw it more effectively. There was enough instruction to make the project succesful, it could just be more clear in the way it was presented.

Question 6
My favorite medium to work with was charcoal pencils. For as long as I have been drawing, pencils have been my go to art medium. My favorite project involving this was the "look at that view" project. My sketchy style was able to be used for a good effect. The hairs on the spider where uniform in one direction but still irregular. Also, since I had previous knowledge on how to use pencil effectively, I had an easier time doing the shading in this project. The perspective practice drawings also helped. It helped me learn the proportions for something that you would look up at (worm view).

Question 7
The one project I feel was the least succesful was the room contour project. It was the first major project we did in the class and it was using pen, a medium I am not good with. The difficult part of this project was the idea that we had to keep the pen on the paper for as long as possible. I had to use multiple long lines in order for me to be happy with it but it was not what was instructed. There was also a lot of detail to put on the paper and the paper was very large. I found it difficult to fill the space effectively. If I did this project again, I would do much better than at first due to the different things I have learned like control over the pen and shading.
